  • Conducting choirs and leading choral workshops

  • Performing as a piano soloist, accompanist, and chamber musician

  • Teaching piano, music theory, and composition

I received my musical education at the King's School Worcester, St John’s College Cambridge, and the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London. My composition teachers were Robin Holloway, Hugh Wood, Alfred Nieman and George Nicholson. My piano teachers were Phyllis Palmer and Terence Beckles.

Current and future projects:

Summer gives me a chance to rest, refresh, enjoy some cultural nourishment (Three Choirs Festival in Hereford, and Proms on the radio) and explore my own composing projects.

In the Autumn, Monmouth Choral Society will be rehearsing and performing Elgar's Dream of Gerontius, while Thornbury Choral Society will be getting their teeth into Handel's Messiah.
